Since launching in the fall of 2004, Rachel Leigh’s eponymous line of jewelry has expanded to include distribution in over 500 stores worldwide. Based in New York, the former Yves Saint Laurent publicist has collaborated with and designed exclusively for a number of esteemed clientele including L’Oreal Paris, Swarovski, Madewell and Susan G. Komen. To date, the collection and has been featured in Vogue, W, Harper’s Bazaar, Women’s Wear Daily, and countless other fashion publications.
Presenting three collections annually, Leigh is credited with producing vintage-inspired pieces that are characteristically timeless while still incorporating the dominant trends to walk to the runway. And in an era of fast-fashion and disposable consumption, Leigh’s approach is keepsake-meets-contemporary. “My focus is to create statement jewelry that women aren’t afraid to wear. I want them to be intrigued by the design but not intimidated. That, to me, is the charm of costume jewelry - not necessarily that you throw it away after one season because you didn’t pay a fine-jewelry price tag, but that you are able to appreciate the fine details, invest in multiple pieces, and save them for years to come.”
